Step 2: Getting Livery

If you are in TWTL2, chances are you have already got a feel for the basics of the game. Getting Population, getting Resources, and starting to build up your army.

The next most important step in your Kingory world is to obtain the rank of Livery.

Benefits of Livery

  • With a Level 5 Market, you can Recycle Items for Gold. Very Useful
  • You can have 2 cities
  • You gain access to The Arena.

To obtain the Livery rank, you need a few things
  • 20,000 Gold
  • 10 Pearl
  • 5 Coral
The gold is no problem at all, as you have a continual supply. The most common question I had when I started was "How do I get Pearl and Coral."

You obtain Pearl and Coral, among with the other Jewels by getting your troops to gather from the Wilderness (Lakes, Swamps, Barren, Forests, and Mountains).

In order to gather from the Wilderness, you must first Conquer said Wilderness. Before conquering a wilderness, it is best to scout it to see if your troops can win the battle.

How to Scout

  • Click on Wilderness (The number represents the level. The lower, the less troops, and the lower chance to get Jewels)
  • Click Scout
  • Send any amount of scouts to the area
  • You will receive a scout report with the number of troops there
If your Reconnaissance skill is below level 3, you won't receive a number, but a description on the number of troops. These are decoded below.

1-9 = Few
10-24 = Several
25 -49 = Pack
50 -99 = Lots
100 -249 = Horde
250 -499 = Throng
500 -999 = Swarm
1000 -2499 = Zounds
2500 -4999 = Legion
5000 -9999 = Bulk

If you think you can beat the troops, go to Conquer the Wilderness.

After you Conquer the Wilderness, the troops that conquered said wilderness will garrison the Wilderness. Usually most people send their entire force to conquer a close wilderness, so recall these troops.

Dispatch a hero, some labors, and some fighters (I prefer sending 300 labors, and 300 archers/swordsmen) to the Wilderness. Once they arrive, in the Troop window, make sure the troops are Gathering, and not Garrisoning.

Leave the troops Gathering for 20 hours minimum. I know this seems like a long time and it is tempting to reap your resources early, but doing so will hamper your chances to gain Jewels.

Things to note:

The chance to gain Jewellery depends on the level of the Wilderness, so obviously, higher is better.
Your troops can be attacked in the Wilderness, so that is why you need troops there.

Welcome: Optimal Tax Rate

Welcome all members of the TWTL2 blog.

In this blog I will try to give you some tips for the betterment of your Kingory World.

Firstly, Tax Rates.

Gold is an essential resource in Kingory, and even if you have plenty now, research later on will cost you a lot more than you already have.

A couple of key points about Tax:

1. As you increase your tax rate, allegiance decreases. The formula is as follows

Tax Rate + Allegiance = 100.

When you get attacked and lose, your allegiance decreases. So, if you are getting attacked, either relocate or ignore this.

2. As you increase your tax rate (decrease your allegiance), your population will fall. The formula for your current population is as follows.

Current Population = Max Population * Allegiance

Using our other equation, we have

Current Population = Max Population * (100-Tax rate)

3. The most important part of the Tax Rate. You gain the maximum income from tax when your tax rate is 50%. The below link will show you a spreadsheet I just whipped up. It shows you how your current population and gross tax income changes with a change in your tax rate.

4. Idle Population is useless. Unless you plan on a mass recruitment of troops, that is.

So, in conclusion, if you have any spare population and your tax rate is below 50%, increase it until you have a minimal amount of idle population.
If your tax rate is above 50%, decrease it to 50%.
